Across4seas is a telecollaborative writing project that connects groups of students online to help them enhance their communication ability across languages and cultures. An Across4seas exchange is typically based in two classes and involves two partner teachers and two groups of students from two different schools.
For educators
Across4seas provide resources for teachers, including ideas and materials to support both online and classroom learning. If you are interested in starting your own Across4seas exchange, you can use our exchange tool. Please contact us. You will be able to easily create questionnaires and open forums, and manage student groups. Your exchange will also become part of our archived Past Exchanges.
For researchers
The Across4seas project started in 2009, running on a different site based in China until 2017. Our archives are a rich source of linguistic and cultural data. To see what students have shared with each other over the years, we invite you to explore past exchanges.
Learning from experience
If you are already using Across4seas in your classroom or in your research, we invite you to share your experiences with the community.
